title. for those of you who are not familiar with football (soccer if you’re american), haramball (or anti-football) is a style of football that can pretty much be described as “we don’t want to score, we want to prevent the opponent from scoring”. Notable instances of haramball include Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. You can read about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-football What is the closest equivalent in LoL
More recently there was a Worlds game where T1 played perfectly by pushing sides and avoiding fights at all costs, maybe it was T1 vs AL at Worlds 25
Let's say team red drafts a very late game team (let's say Nasus, Yi, Veigar, Kog'Maw, Lulu), and team blue something more balanced. Could we say that if blue is not proactive enough, then red will win without doing anything ? The higher elo this kind of draft is played, the less likely it is to see this kind of drafts win, because the opposing team with exploit the early/mid game weaknesses of the late game champs. And at lower elo, it will happen more that the opposing team won't do anything to abuse the late game champs. If I compare this to the "Haramball" you describe. If the Atletico's opponent are not sharp enough they wont be able to pierce the defense, or get the ball back. But better teams will find the few opportunities to exploit. What do you think ?
There is no time limit in League (in theorie a match could go on for hours), unlike football. So i dont think there is any equivalent in League. It's also not a viable strategie to just sit under your inib / nexus towers, because the enemie team will stack ressources, drakes and nashor etc. for free. What could come close is maybe late game characters that will try to stall/turtle the game for the longer they can. To do so they will minimize interections and focus on farming/scalling so that they can to reach late game safely. Im thinking about characters like Kayle, Ryze, Kassadin, etc.
