In just over a year, Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan has established himself as one of the best top laners in the LEC. Extended until 2027 by Vitality, he heads into the Spring Split with a status that keeps growing and an international stage yet to be conquered. A convincing LEC Versus a team that seems to be finding its footing, and MSI on the line. RFT.GG had the chance to ask him a few questions before the Spring Split began.
How would you evaluate your personal progression since last year? Did you expect it to be this fast?
My progression has been solid.
Honestly, I expected it to be faster.
Many already consider you one of the best top laners in the league. What's the next individual objective, and is it becoming urgent to test yourself against the world's best?
My objective this year is to make it to an international tournament. It would be great to test myself against the best top laners in the world.
Which aspects of your game still need improvement? Laning seems like a clear strength — is it side lane play or teamfighting where you have the most room to grow?
Everything. There's a lot of room for me to grow across the board, and I'm putting in the work to make sure I do.
How do you feel about the meta heading into the split? And do you get the impression toplane could become a real focal point for certain teams in Fearless series, as BLG shown at FST?
I feel like the meta is mostly the same, so we'll still see common picks like K'Sante, Gnar, Sion, and Rumble. In BO3s and BO5s, the Fearless format means everyone has to pull out different champs, because blinding after game two gets hard.

Only his team mates can stop him.
