Anyone's Legend have parted ways with toplaner Li "Flandre" Xuanjun, they announced on their socials on Tuesday. AL called the split a mutual decision, which comes despite the veteran being under contract until the end of the year.
The move formalises a change that had already happened on stage. Since the start of the LPL Split 3, Chen "Breathe" Chen has been AL's starting toplaner, and he has been fairly convincing in the role — most notably in the team's latest match against Bilibili Gaming.
Flandre leaves behind one of the more decorated résumés in the league. He won Worlds in 2021 with Edward Gaming, and he was a central piece of the AL side that went on a remarkable run last year. They notably lifted an LPL title and reached two finals domestically. Internationally, they went further than any other LPL team, taking third place at MSI, reaching the Esports World Cup final, and pushing eventual world champions T1 to game five in the Worlds quarterfinals.
AL have not come close to those heights since. The organisation lost head coach Wong "Tabe" Pak Kan before the start of the year, and the drop-off has been clear across both 2026 LPL splits, with the team falling just short of the podium on each occasion.
Flandre also joins a long list of toplaners on the move in the region this summer. Yang "Wenbo" Wenbo arrived at Bilibili Gaming to replace Chen "Bin" Zebin, while Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok took over from Breathe at Invictus Gaming — the same Breathe who has since taken Flandre's spot at AL.
