Tunisia is among the 100 nations selected for the Esports Nations Cup 2026. But just hours after the announcement, the Tunisian scene erupted. The reason: the National Team Manager appointed to lead the delegation.
Dismissed in February, resurfaced in March
Very quickly, members of the community discovered the identity of the designated National Team Manager (NTM) and the bewilderment was total. The man in question had been officially removed from the Tunisian Electronic Sports Federation (TUNESF) in February 2026. An internal email, sent on February 11 to the federation's presidents and members, announced the end of his duties and the transition of his responsibilities to new officials, with a replacement planned for March.
One month later, he was nevertheless entrusted with one of the most prestigious missions Tunisian esport has ever known.
An immediate outcry
The reaction on X was unanimous. Among the first to sound the alarm was a Tunisian AD carry playing for Dragons Esports, who published a tweet directly calling out the official ENC and EWC accounts. The message was shared in a chain reaction.
A former Valorant player who had served under the designated NTM spoke out publicly. His testimony was blunt: he said he had directly witnessed problematic behavior and believed that Tunisian players should not have to choose between silence and the pride of representing their country.
A well-known caster from the scene drove the point home: as a figure of Tunisian esport, he stated he was not proud to be represented by this person, citing conflicts with players, teams, cosplayers, and referees throughout his time at the federation.
Public statements then followed in quick succession, and under the tweet, comments detailed the contradiction between the NTM's dismissal by the federation and his reappearance in the most important position, demanding formal explanations from the ENC and TUNESF.
A formalized file
Beyond public statements, a file reviewed by RFT.GG compiling factual evidence was put together. The file includes screenshots of the federation's internal email confirming the NTM's departure, tweets and public testimonies from players, casters, and referees, as well as excerpts from Discord conversations showing the NTM's lack of respect toward participants in national tournaments.
The document also proposes alternative profiles deemed more legitimate to represent Tunisia, notably Nabil (@zQrz1sss), an experienced Valorant manager who previously worked with Ghools Esports and Erah Esport and who publicly declared himself available for Tunisia as soon as the ENC was announced, and Lokmays (@Lokmays), founder of Gamefy and former Head of Esport at SportsGng, active in the LoL Arabia ecosystem.
