dylan falco leaves

After nearly five years and eleven LEC titles, Dylan Falco has been moved to G2's inactive roster. Perkz will lead the team from the Esports World Cup onwards — his first head coaching role.

G2 Esports announced on Friday evening that head coach Dylan Falco has been moved to the bench, just hours after their 3-0 defeat to LYON in the MSI 2026 semifinals. Luka "Perkz" Perković steps up from his positional coach role, effective from the start of the Esports World Cup in Paris — where G2 open their tournament on July 15, in what will be the first head coaching assignment of Perkz's career.

The Croatian had only recently returned to the organisation. Announced during the Spring Split and made official ahead of MSI, Perkz joined the coaching staff as G2 claimed their 19th LEC trophy. He now inherits the top job at the club where he built his legacy as a player — eight LEC titles and the MSI 2019 championship, still Europe's only international trophy.

Falco remains under contract with G2 for now, though the organisation confirmed a goodbye video will follow when he officially leaves — a formulation that leaves little doubt about the direction of travel. His contract had been extended earlier this year through the end of 2027.
