G2 Esports lands McDonald's Germany as presenting partner of G2 NORD and revives G2 Hel

G2 Esports has officially announced a partnership with McDonald's Germany, which becomes the presenting partner of its League of Legends academy team in the Prime League, G2 NORD. The deal also funds the return of G2 Hel, the organisation's women's team, which will compete in the upcoming Game Changers circuit.

The logo and the iconic "ich liebe es" slogan will appear on both rosters' jerseys. McDonald's and G2 are also planning a year-long content series built around Niklot "Tolkin" Stüber, with a focus on behind-the-scenes access and player storytelling.

G2 NORD on the rise, and the return of G2 Hel

Formed in early 2026 through the partnership between G2 and NORD Esports, the academy structure made an immediate impact in its debut split, claiming the Prime League Winter title.

Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2:

"With McDonald's Germany as the presenting partner of G2 NORD, we're not only strengthening our competitive ecosystem in the region, but also reinforcing our belief in building a more inclusive future for esports. The revival of G2 Hel is a major step in that direction, and we're proud to work with a partner that recognizes the importance of supporting women in esports and investing in long-term progress for the industry."

On the women's side, G2 Hel is back in action after a financial hiatus. The team had dominated the European women's LoL scene before being put on pause due to a lack of funding. Its return to Game Changers — the circuit Riot is pushing as a development pathway for pro female players — reflects G2's stated ambition to put women's representation back at the heart of its competitive project.

An announcement video produced by G2, featuring Jankos, Sola, Tolkin, Caltys and the NORD roster, accompanies the launch of the collaboration. Agency Scholz & Friends led the creative side on behalf of McDonald's.

Juste petite note : G2 NORD à perdu 3-2 en finale du winter de Prime League, ce qu'ils ont gagné c'était un tournoi à côté avec les équipes de Prime League (la fameuse Comedy Cup) !
