Invictus Gaming have asked their fanbase to rein it in. In a statement posted on Weibo on 3 August, the organisation described a pattern of behaviour spreading online and at venues — personal attacks and demands for roster changes in comment sections, verbal abuse aimed at players on their way out of the arena after games, and inappropriate conduct during fan interactions.
The timing points straight at the previous evening. iG beat LNG 2-0 on 2 August, on the day of their fifteenth anniversary and in Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok's first home game since his return for Split 3. During the post-match meet-and-greet, a spectator who had come on stage for a photo leaned in to kiss the top laner, who turned his head away. The clip topped Weibo's hot search list within hours. TheShy's manager wrote publicly that the person should be identified and barred from future events.
