G2 Esports head to São Paulo as LEC Versus champions, but a look at the scrim schedule shared by team manager Romain Bigeard after the LEC Versus reveals some interesting trends — and one glaring weakness.

G2's scrims tell a clear story of progression. Early practice was inconsistent, with losses to Fnatic (2-4) and KC (1-4, 1-3) mixed in with strong showings against Vitality (5-0, 4-1). By mid-January, the team hit another gear entirely, reeling off dominant 6-0 and 5-0 sessions against Fnatic, Shifters, Team Heretics, and Los Ratones. That momentum carried into February, where G2 posted winning records against nearly every opponent as the playoffs approached.

Against fellow playoff contenders, the numbers are convincing. G2 dominated Vitality with an 81% win rate, held a comfortable 65% against Movistar KOI, and went 61% against NAVI. GIANTX were a dead-even 50% — the LEC's scrim gods struck once again.

Only one negative winrate

One opponent stood out for the wrong reasons: Karmine Corp. G2 managed just a 17% win rate against their eventual Grand Final opponents in scrims, going 4-20 across five sessions. G2 have not scrimmed KC since January 13 — nearly seven weeks before the two met in Barcelona. Whether that was a mutual decision or a strategic choice to avoid giving KC any more reads remains unclear, but the results on stage speak for themselves, G2 won when it mattered most: 2-0 in the upper bracket, then 3-2 in the final.
