EDward Gaming and Weibo Gaming have traded junglers in the middle of LPL Split 3. Zhao "Jiejie" Lijie is back at EDG less than two years after leaving, with Peng "Xiaohao" Hao making the opposite trip to a Weibo jersey he last wore in 2024.
Both clubs were looking for a way out of a bad start. EDG sit bottom of Group Ascend and are still chasing their first series win of the split. Weibo have it worse — they dropped into Group Nirvana after Split 2, a hard fall for a roster built in December around Li "Xiaohu" Yuanhao, Zhao "Elk" Jiahao and Tang "Zika" Huayu.
The move started with the player. Jiejie no longer wanted to play for Weibo, and EDG's management went to WBG head coach Ming "Clearlove" Kai — their own head coach until 15 July — to ask about bringing him home. Xiaohao pushed in the same direction, keen to keep working with Clearlove.

The symmetry is hard to miss: Jiejie's LPL career began in 2019 by replacing Clearlove in the EDG jungle, before an LPL Summer title and the Summoner's Cup in 2021. He returns to a version of EDG with none of that left.
