Karmine Corp got their LEC Summer off to a flying start, sweeping Team Vitality 2-0 in front of their fans at the Adidas Arena. RFT.GG caught up with KC jungler Martin "Yike" Sundelin after the win to talk about the team's return to the LEC, the jungle-support synergy powering the team, and turning a year of runner-up finishes into a road to Worlds.

How are you feeling, and how do you assess your own performance today?

I feel good, thank you. And I think my performance was pretty good today. Game one was pretty clean — we made some small mistakes, but overall a pretty clean game. Game two we made more mistakes. I got to play VI — at least it's fun, I love playing VI now, getting all the support when i player her. But yeah It was messier, but overall I think I had a good day.

In the first half of the year, it felt like you were searching for your identity, especially in the draft, trying out a lot of different picks. Since the EWC, it looks like you've leaned more into your comfort picks. Is that something you've been consciously working on in your prep?

Yeah, I think everyone's been working on new champs, basically. The meta is very different now — a lot of mage bots, a lot of roamers, Camille-Pyke support, and more fighting junglers, more Lee Sin, that kind of thing. So everyone kind of has to improve their champion pool and make sure we can play the champs as well as possible. And so far I think we've been getting very good at it.

You started to touch on it — the meta has shifted toward heavy skirmishing in the early game, which puts a lot of weight on jungle-support synergy. Would you say that's the main thing making you so strong right now?
