According to a report by EXPRESSEN, Ninjas in Pyjamas has announced the layoff of all its employees in Sweden during a meeting held on Thursday in Stockholm.
The management of the Swedish operations is expected to be transferred to Abu Dhabi, where the group’s global headquarters is already located, as part of a strategic refocus supported by an agreement with the Emirati authorities.
In a statement, Hicham Chahine, CEO of NIP Group, said:
“We are currently reviewing certain parts of our operational structure as part of our broader international activities.”
He specified that this review includes “planned changes related to certain roles and functions,” while assuring that “no final decisions have been made and the process is still ongoing.”
Negotiations with trade unions are now expected to begin.

In recent years, NIP has diversified its activities beyond competitive esports, which according to information from RFT.GG accounted for less than 10% of its operations, with a stronger focus on digital and financial activities, notably bitcoin production.
