With the win, T1 secured Korea's second MSI 2026 ticket alongside Hanwha Life Esports.
The numbers carry weight beyond the rivalry. The event became just the third LCK tournament ever to cross 2 million peak viewers, and the most-watched League of Legends competition of the year so far by a comfortable margin. Last year's Road to MSI came close, peaking at 1.96 million, also fueled by T1 hype. For comparison, First Stand 2026 — the first international tournament of the competitive calendar this year — peaked at 1.5 million viewers, putting the scale of a single LCK domestic match into perspective.
For Gen.G, the loss means missing MSI for the first time since 2022 — the org had never finished below fourth in its three previous appearances and now can't defend the title it won the last two editions.
T1 and HLE will join the world's best at MSI 2026, held at the Daejeon Convention Center II from June 28 to July 12.
