According to MISA Esports founder Ziyad Misali, Team Heretics have signed the organization's support player Han "Way" Gil ahead of the EMEA Masters Winter, with Heretics' Paul "Stend" Lardin heading to MISA as part of the deal.

The move was set in motion shortly after the TCL championship. With EMEA Masters overlapping with both the TCL and LEC schedules, Way would not have been able to play for MISA during the tournament under the new calendar. Heretics submitted an official offer for Way, and after roughly ten days of negotiations driven in part by Way's desire to compete in the LEC, the two organizations reached an agreement.

The transfer involves a significant buyout fee from Heretics, along with Stend joining MISA's roster. MISA will continue into EMEA Masters with Hype and Stend as their bot lane — a change that reshuffles the Korean duo that steamrolled the TCL this winter.

For Heretics, the swap sees them part ways with one of their weakest link so far this season, while giving Yoon "Ice" Sang-hoon a Korean-speaking partner in the bot lane. Whether that is enough to challenge the top of the LEC standings remains to be seen.
