Aiming joins Kiwoom DRX as Jiwoo moves to KT Rolster in AD carry trade
Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram is joining Kiwoom DRX, while Jung "Jiwoo" Ji-woo heads the other way to KT Rolster. Both organisations confirmed the trade on their socials on 30 July.
The deal lands one day after KT dropped Aiming from their starting five and promoted Park "FenRir" Gang-jun from their Challengers team. KT pointed to a conflict that had broken out inside the roster during practice and said it had hurt team synergy. The change at botlane, in their words, was a collective decision. Aiming's third stint with the organisation therefore ends after half a season.
Aiming published a statement on Instagram shortly after the trade was announced, saying he wanted to reassure worried fans rather than assign blame.
According to him, the disagreement grew out of feedback he was giving in the hope of improving the team, and turned into a difference of views between players. He said the other player was the first to react emotionally, that the argument escalated and that both of them ended up crossing a line. He described his own words as ones he deeply regrets, and said he should have handled the situation more maturely.
Aiming added that he then met the head coach and said he was willing to finish the season with the roster, even on a purely professional footing. The other player, in his telling, firmly indicated that continuing together would not work. He said he respects the organisation's final decision, but regretted not being given a deeper conversation about his own position before it was taken — a decision that stings more, he noted, because he had chosen KT over other options in the last offseason.
He did not name the player involved.
Neither team has confirmed a lineup, but both players are expected to take the starting spot in their new team. Jiwoo lost the seat to Trần "LazyFeel" Bảo Minh after the opening match of the season and never won it back, spending the rest of the year in the LCK CL — and KT probably did not trade for an academy player to leave him in the academy. FenRir holds the role in the meantime, with Jang "Ghost" Yong-jun, switched back to AD carry earlier this week, taking the botlane seat in the LCK CL.
