After a two-week break, the EWC 2026 EMEA Qualifier resumes tonight with four Bo3s that will reshape the bracket. Two upper bracket semifinals — G2 Esports vs NAVI and Karmine Corp vs Movistar KOI — kick off the evening, followed by lower bracket Round 2, where Shifters face Galions and GIANTX meet reigning EMEA Masters champions Solary.
What is on the line is simple. Two of the 16 spots at the Esports World Cup 2026 main event in Riyadh, where Gen.G defend their title against the rest of the world from July 15 to 19. The LEC Spring playoffs will hand the first EMEA seed to the split champion — every other EMEA team has to come through here.
The marquee match of the night is the rematch nobody got time to digest. Karmine Corp and Movistar KOI played each other on May 9 at the Madrid Arena, on the final day of the LEC Spring Roadtrip. KC took it 2-1 in front of an MKOI home crowd, the series peaking at 384,390 concurrent viewers — the most-watched match of the LEC Spring regular season. The fallout extended well beyond the rift. A public spat between Kamel "Kameto" Kebir and Ibai Llanos over Friday's attendance led Kameto to cancel a planned Saturday showmatch, and the weekend ended up framing the season's defining "Clasico" narrative.
Tonight, both sides return without the home crowd — just a Bo3 with a spot in the upper bracket final and a direct shot at qualification. MKOI took a map off KC five days ago. The question is whether they can take two.
In the other semifinal, G2 face NAVI. The LEC Versus champions dispatched Fnatic 2-0 in their opener and remain undefeated in the bracket. NAVI swept GIANTX 2-0 to get here and have looked composed at the start of this tournament, but G2 enter as clear favorites on form.
The second half of the night belongs to the underdogs. Both LFL representatives — EMEA Masters Winter champions Solary and runners-up Galions — survived Round 1 by sweeping LEC opposition. Solary eliminated Fnatic 2-0. Galions did the same to SK Gaming. They were not the only LEC casualties: Shifters pulled off the round's real upset, sweeping LEC Spring leaders Vitality 2-0, while GIANTX moved past Team Heretics in a more expected result. Four of the eight teams left in the bracket sit on the lower side in Round 2 — and two of them belong to the LFL.
Solary face GIANTX. The French team is the story of the ERL season: a first LFL title in March, a first EMEA Masters in April, and now a first run through the EWC bracket against LEC sides. Galions take on Shifters in a series that pits the EM Winter runners-up against a team whose own Round 1 upset suggests this qualifier has more chaos left in it than the seeding implied.
Both Bo3s are elimination matches. The winners join the loser of the upper bracket semifinals in Round 3 of the lower bracket on May 16, with the Bo5 qualification matches following on May 17.
