LEC Playoffs: Every Qualification Scenario Ahead of the Final Weekend

The last week of the LEC regular season breaks from the usual format. Instead of the standard four days of play, there are only three — and Sunday carries an unusually heavy load with three matches, starting earlier than usual at 14:00 CEST.
Four teams are already through: Karmine Corp, G2 Esports, Vitality and GIANTX. KC and G2 are already locked top 4 and will no matter what play a . While VIT and GX are now playing for seeding rather than survival. Everyone else but — , , , and — is still fighting for what's left, and several of them are entirely dependent on results elsewhere.
TH need to win both matches over the weekend plus help. The scorelines don't matter for them— 2-0 and 2-1 against Shifters and MKOI are worth the same.
The single qualifying scenario:
TH beat Shifters on Friday and beat MKOI on Sunday
Fnatic lose to Vitality on Friday and to GX on Sunday
SK lose to KC on Saturday
It sounds like a lot, but it isn't as far-fetched as it looks. Both Vitality and GX have every reason to take their Fnatic matches seriously — despite already being qualified, they're still chasing a top-4 seed. The real obstacle is Sunday: beating MKOI is the hardest part of the equation.
NAVI are in a far more comfortable position. Any one of the following guarantees qualification:
They take a single game off GX on Saturday
Team Heretics take a game off MKOI
Fnatic lose both of their weekend matches
Each of those, on its own, puts them through at 100%.
That leaves exactly one combination that eliminates them: MKOI beat Heretics 2-0, NAVI lose 2-0 to GX, and Fnatic win at least one of their two matches.
On the top-4 race: NAVI's only route is beating GX. A 2-1 leaves them around a coin flip, waiting on results from Vitality, GX and Fnatic. A 2-0 pushes them to roughly 90%.
Fnatic have the widest set of outcomes of anyone in the race, with two matches left to play: Vitality on Friday, then GX to close the split on Sunday.
Qualification: win either match, at any scoreline, and they're in.
Top 4:
Win both with at least one 2-0 → top 4 guaranteed
Win both 2-1 → roughly 75%, depending on NAVI–GX and Shifters–Vitality
And here's the wrinkle: Fnatic can lose both matches and still qualify. If they go 0-2 on the weekend, the scorelines are irrelevant — 0-4 or 2-4 changes nothing. What they'd need is:
SK to lose to KC (any scoreline)
Team Heretics to beat MKOI on Sunday (any scoreline)
Shifters to beat Team Heretics on Friday (any scoreline)
If Fnatic lose both matches and only one of these conditions is not met, they're out.
Already qualified, if GIANTX win both matches — NAVI on Saturday, Fnatic on Sunday — the top 4 is locked.
A single win puts them somewhere between 80% and 90% depending on which match and what scoreline, so the odds are firmly in their favour as long as they take one. There's also a specific clean route: beat Fnatic at any scoreline and take at least one game off NAVI — even in a 2-1 loss — and they're through at 100%.
The danger: unlike Vitality, two losses eliminate GX from the top 4 entirely.
Also already qualified, and the most comfortable of the contenders. One win from their two matches locks the top 4, and with Shifters on the schedule Sunday, the odds are heavily in their favour.
Even in the worst case — losing both matches 2-0 — Vitality still have a 25% top-4 chance depending on results elsewhere.
The matches that decide it
Friday — SHFT vs TH: a game with no stakes for one side that could swing Fnatic's fate in a very specific scenario.
Friday — VIT vs FNC: the weekend's first domino. A Fnatic win ends most of the chaos before it starts.
Saturday — KC vs SK: SK need a 2-0; anything less ends their run and shifts the picture for Fnatic and Heretics.
Saturday — NAVI vs GX: a single game decides whether NAVI are safe, and the scoreline shapes both teams' seeding.
Sunday — MKOI vs TH: the elimination match. One game either way ripples through NAVI, SK and Fnatic's scenarios.
Sunday — FNC vs GX: the last match of the regular season, and quite possibly the one that settles both the final playoff spot and the top-4 seeding.
