OTP FINANCIAL BREAKDOWN

When Chips and Noi left O'Gaming at the end of 2020 to launch their own production company, there were legitimate doubts about the project's economic viability. Five years later, One Trick Production (OTP) has established itself as the go-to French-speaking broadcaster for League of Legends.

From the LFL to Worlds, by way of the LEC, the LCK, and the EMEA Masters. But behind the viewers and the preshows, how much does esports production actually bring in in France? The accounts analyzed by RFT.GG reveal the inner workings of the esports broadcasting leader's economy.

From zero to €4M in revenue

The first striking figure is the trajectory. Over its first 14 months of existence, OTP generated €2.2M in revenue. A blazing start for a company with around fifteen shareholders.

Beyond its own activities, OTP generates a significant share of its revenue through audiovisual production on behalf of third parties: broadcasting esports competitions, subcontracting services, producing talk shows, and one-off event assignments. This ability to diversify its income beyond the traditional esports calendar notably explains the exceptional peak of €4M in revenue reached in 2022. In 2023, revenue dropped back to €3M before climbing again to €3.4M in 2024, a 13.6% year-on-year increase.

OTP FINANCIAL KEYS INDICATORS

How much does broadcasting cost at OTP?

With 8 employees and 2 company officers, the rise in costs is symptomatic of a company in healthy growth. Salaries reached €670K in 2024, up 30% year-on-year. Adding social charges, the total payroll cost approaches one million euros.

The dominant expense item remains external charges: €2M in 2024, up 15% year-on-year. This amount, which absorbs over 60% of revenue, encompasses technical subcontracting, freelance service providers, studio rental, production tools, and competition-related expenses. OTP fundamentally remains an agile structure, relying on a network of service providers rather than internalizing the entire production chain.

From OTP's creation through to the last published accounts, cumulative operating profit exceeds one million euros, and the broadcaster is particularly redistributive. According to our reconstruction calculations, the company distributes on average more than half of its profits to its employees, with amounts between approximately €100K and €200K per year paid out as bonuses, for a cumulative total exceeding €600K.
