Saigon Warriors will not play their last two group stage games at the World Star Challengers Invitational. The Vietnamese side have forfeited their final-day matches against Solary and ZSK, and both opponents have been awarded the win.
The reason is a scheduling clash. Saigon Warriors earned their WSCI spot as VCS Summer champions, but the international event runs from 20 September to 2 October — right in the middle of the VCS 2026 Finals, which started on 11 September and conclude on 11 October. With both competitions overlapping, the team have chosen to focus on their next VCS match.
It is an awkward outcome for the first edition of the WSCI. The tournament is an expansion of the former Asia Star Challengers Invitational, which was limited to Asian teams, and brings together 16 tier-two sides from China, Korea, APAC, the Americas and EMEA. A domestic final taking priority over the event shows the calendar still has some way to go before every region can commit fully.
On the stage itself, Saigon Warriors struggled in Group D. They beat ZSK but fell to Galions and Solary. The double round-robin format only sends the top two teams of each group to the knockout stage, so their playoff hopes were slim before the forfeit.
Solary, already through, pick up a free win ahead of the Bo5 single-elimination playoffs. Saigon Warriors, for their part, turn their attention back to Vietnam and the VCS Finals.
