Tier 2 finally gets its world stage. Riot Games and TJ Sports have announced the 2026 World Star Challengers Invitational (WSCI), a brand-new international tournament bringing together 16 Tier 2 teams from September 20 to October 2. Days after the Demacia Cup went global, the international calendar gains a second cross-regional event — this one dedicated entirely to the next generation.
Five regions are represented — China, Korea, APAC, the Americas and EMEA — with three teams each, selected through a mix of qualification pathways. The Asia Masters champion completes the sixteen-team field, and that spot already has an owner: Dplus Challengers, who lifted the trophy, become the first confirmed participant of the tournament.
