Team Liquid beat Cloud9 3-1 in the upper bracket final on Sunday to claim the first Grand Final spot, while LYON swept past Shopify Rebellion 3-1 to set up the lower bracket final against Cloud9. Both matches will be played at the Gas South Arena on October 3 and 4, in front of up to 13,000 fans, with the title and the last Main Event spot at Worlds on the line.
The three Worlds representatives are already known: Team Liquid, and . What remains open is where they start. By winning yesterday, Team Liquid locked the only guaranteed Main Event spot so far, and the lower bracket final now doubles as a qualifier: its winner joins them in the Swiss Stage in Texas, its loser takes the third seed and in Los Angeles.
