usa kespa partnership

USA Esports and the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) have jointly announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) formalizing a strategic partnership between the two organizations.

The agreement was signed at KeSPA's headquarters by Jesse Bodony, President and CEO of USA Esports, and Alex Youngman Kim, President of KeSPA.

For the Americans, the move carries real weight: they're joining forces with one of the most experienced governing bodies in the world, in a country often described as the "birthplace of esports."

What the MOU covers

The partnership is built around six areas of collaboration:

  • National team selection: sharing frameworks and methodologies to identify and select the players representing both nations in international competition.
  • Delegation exchanges: cross-border visits between the United States and Korea to observe each other's organizational models firsthand.
  • Scholastic and collegiate pathways: the most strategic pillar: the United States exports its highly developed scholastic ecosystem, while Korea accelerates on this front in line with the long-term plan of the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
  • Coach and officials training: pooling high-performance programs for coaches and referees.
  • Competition operations: sharing standards and best practices for event production and management.
  • Institutional knowledge sharing: a broad clause covering experience and insights exchanged between the two organizations.
