The seeding for the 2026 LCK Road to MSI is now set in stone. Back-to-back 2-0 wins over Hanjin Brion on the final weekend of the regular season — first T1 on Saturday, then Hanwha Life Esports on Sunday — locked both teams into the top two and earned them direct passage to Wonju. They will open the event on June 12 in a Round 3 BO5 (best-of-five) for the LCK’s number one seed and a direct ticket to the MSI main stage in Daejeon.
For Gen.G, finishing third stings even more given what’s at stake. The reigning two-time MSI champions, having lifted the trophy in both 2024 and 2025, now face an uncomfortably long road just to get the chance to defend their title. There is a deeper symbolic loss too: this will mark the first time since the that Gen.G have failed to participate in a match decisive for Korea's number one international seed, ending a remarkable five-year run at the top of the domestic hierarchy.
